I am normally not able to access forums from my work, but for some reason I can always access vbmodder. Is this by design and if so what is the secret?

Just luck I guess. Or all the optimizations of my own as well as vBSEO have removed some kind of common factor that distinguishes forums. You'll just have to post more here I guess.

I'm wondering if your keywords and/or metatags omit the phrase message board and the word forum by design.

I would question the benefit of using those references anyway, given that all forums want to bypass filtering. Since content is paramount - the words "forum" & "message board" do little to help ranking and I see no upside to using them at all.

They could also be using something like DMOZ to see how it's listed and categorized.
