Hi i've slowly....very slowly, been learning some php and html and just had a question about a few snippets

in one line of code i used it has the <centre> used

and i was told i should use " div <div align="center"> </div> " instead

the original one works so i was just curious as to why it should be done the other way ?

the other one is a similar thing, I used <font color="yellow">

and was told i should use the <style> tag rather than the <font> tag

again the same question as above, why and if so is it used in exactly the same way ?

The new thinking in web design is that presentation information should not be hard coded in the content.

The idea being that you can add references to all your tags and then define the tag formatting in one or more files. This is done using CSS.
