Ad Management Problem
I just had a question about the vBulletin Ad Management. I noticed you guys have a navbar link unit and it always works. Well, I have a link unit on my forum as well, however, I often find that when I navigate into specific threads or forums the link unit doesn't work and instead says "Enter keywords to display ads" or something along those lines. This is clearly an issue with keyword pickup from the forums and/or threads and quite frankly I'm not too sure how to fix that. Any suggestions?

That's because Google can't see content to decide what to show. Private forums?

No, they're not private, that's the thing. This actually doesn't occur as much as it previously did. I just looked through some forums and threads and for the most part actual ads show up. But numerous times have I seen a search box there instead of the ads because it couldn't figure out what content to display. Speaking of that, is there a way to have more control over the content displayed? Because one of the problems I've also been having is gun advertisements. I mean, the machinima we're producing is made using a game called GunZ, so it takes that and displays ads about real guns, which is completely irrelevant to the subject matter. I noticed that the ads on here are better controlled in that sense.

Well, vBSEO does wonders for making sure search engines see your actual content and not the repetitive garbage. So that may be the difference here. It could also be there just aren't a lot of advertisers for your particular content.

Thanks for the info. I was actually looking at vBSEO, but haven't really decided to invest money in that yet because I don't yet know the future of the company (meaning, it could very well fall face first in one blow). Looks like it has a ton of features, though.
Last question (I swear! lolz). I know that google adsense allows you to insert your own URL's for the ads. Well, I was just curious as to where I would obtain such URL's. From my understanding it has to be a direct URL link, correct? Do you have any recommendations on codes, sites, links, etc. concerning this?

Almost certainly this is the case.
I have Adsense on both of my sites. The content relevency on Foto Fanatix is spot on. There are tons of camera related advertisers.
Now as for After Seppuku... Not so much!! I get some weird ads for everything from Jesus is the Answer to Cheap Laptops in Nigeria!!!

LOL! Jesus is the answer, haha... Hm... well, I guess I just need more traffic to my site in that case to get more advertisers (I'm assuming that's how it works). Unfortunately I can't even begin to think about traffic until we release Episode 1, which should hopefully shoot us off on a great run. Anyway, thanks for the information.
