YouTube shares secret of its home page picks

The clips featured on YouTube's home page are not paid placements, insists Jennifer Nielsen, the video-sharing site's marketing exec. "Our editorial team scours the site for the most entertaining, novel and unique content," she tells Mark Glaser of NPR." Some users have accused CBS of buying its way into YouTube's "Most Viewed" pages.

as much as you would like to believe that, i really dont think it would be cost effective to have people looking over the site for interesting videos

1. they would only see about 1% of them
2. they would need a hell of a lot of employees

I think CBS just submits more videos, therefore they are more likely to get featured more often

Now YT is part of Google, the frontier spirit of the site will go...I suspect it will be all corporate and YT will be replaced by other clone sites allowing what YT now prevent.

Youtube is ok but for better quality streams u want to use dailymotion, it is a direct rival of youtube but is of higher quality and they get full length films etc all on 1 link

Dailymotion - Share Your Videos

Note to admin this is obviously not my site so this is not a spam.

i use youtube a little but it is frustrating have to view movies in like 10 peices that link above is better, think google took over the wrong company.
