Not sure how all that works yet. I had to re-install IonCube though. The test php said it was ok but then the site broke because it wanted the php 5.1 version. Downloaded that and all was good.

I was thinking about buying this mod for my board, but have yet to get around to it.. Maybe I'll install it tomorrow. What do you think of it so far?

I think it is a wonderful tool for any vBulletin webmaster. It has so many little things it does well that add up to a powerful Search Engine Optimization machine. I am starting to see spider hits spiking over 1000 a day now. Before it was like 150 to 200. Now it's 500 to 1100 and growing. It's gradual. SEO isn't an overnite event. It takes time for the SE's to adjust to change being the big clunky monsters they are.
If you do you can get plenty of help here or at their site. Please consider using our affiliate link to purchase it if you do.

I will for sure use your affiliation link if I order it, it's the least I can do (other than paying the $20 for a subscription) for the site. I really like the way this site works.
Search Engine Optimization is something I've always tended to put towards the back burner, however lately I've been getting more into it. Submitting to more directories, exchanging links with other related sites, and I'm currently redesigning our website to make it a little more search friendly.
I think I may just order it tomorrow..
Thanks Code Monkey!

Also, are there any things I should know about before installing this? Anything I should do to prepare my board?

I used to be the same way. Because I was and am busy and can't learn everything in the world. It's hard to embrace something when we don't have time to understand it. But, as with most things, you retain more than you realize. Eventually it sunk in and I started spending time on the research till I could grasp the realities of it.
Does everyone need to worry about Search Engine Optimization, not always. It depends on what you hope to achive with your site. I have run a few game specific clan type forums (still do) and never really cared if anyone outside knew we existed. So no, I don't worry about SEO there. But here I do need to worry about it if I want to reach a point where this site pays for itself.
And in the last month and a half I have seen positive results with VBSEO doing it's thing here. It went backwards at first which was a shocker and makes one want to panic and uninstall. But then one day, they came like a heard of buffalo. And I can gradually see my back links going up now. I have have also been busy getting quality back links and such as well. That is part of Search Engine Optimization too. Now I want to focus on content more.

The debate about whether to get it or not has been vacilating in my head. I run a forum for a pretty specific demographic. My forum is for my Orlando Pontiac car club (not my club, I'm just a member and the webmaster). So for the most part we're a small site, but at the same time, our main focus is getting new people to our site, and then hopefully they will join our club.
Content is important, I agree, that's why I'm actually going to have my girlfriend help me come up with stuff that people will like to see on the pages. She thinks it, I make it haha.

Does VBSEO require much heavier usage of web server and/or mysql resources? VBulletin is already a heavy bulletin board script already. What happens to performance after these types of mods? Is it significant or minor?
