vBulletin AJAX Cron Released Free.

This is simple hack that will replace the dirty fake image code that runs your vbcrons with a nice clean AJAX call to do the same thing.

No more page halts for your members while the crons run. Now they will run asyncronously and in the background using AJAX.

This should function on vba home pages as well.

It does work in all forum pages.

I have always found the vbcron bit to be annoying. So I fixed it.

I have decided that since this is such a tiny but useful mod, that it will be available for free to non-subscribers. I will post it on other mod sites. However, support will only be offered here.

Isn't the cron only launched for 1 user? After it starts, it would not affect anyone else?

Added ajax_cron_start hook. Now if you should ever have a plugin that uses the cron_start hook simply change it to use the ajax_cron_start hook.

I see it's made the request list.

New Version 1.1.4

This will now degrade gracefully when browsers have javascript turned off. When a browser has javascript turned off the default vBulletin method will be implemented to ensure the cron runs.
