Some Changes to Forum Structure at vBulletin Modder

Hello to all of our members and lurkers. If you're sick of eating all those Halloween candies yet, glance at our new forum arrangement here at vBulletin Modder.

I have moved my vBulletin modification forums to the bottom so that the rest of the discussion forums will stand out more to the first time visitor. As well, they will now be reached more easily by our regulars.

The intent of this site has always been to be a free help resource for vBulletin webmaster's. Subscriptions to my mods are not required to use or contribute to this site and are merely a way of financing this project. So I felt the need to de-emphasize my stuff and bring your wonderful contributions to the top. Yours are probably better than mine anyway. Without your contributions of knowledge and content this site would have no purpose. So join in and let's make it a regular stop for every vBulletin webmaster.

With the new arrangement, we now have room for more open discussion forums on every aspect of being a webmaster of a vBulletin powered community. So get your suggestions for a new discussion forum posted in our suggestion forum.

I would like to pose some questions to the community. Do we need some forums for members posting mods and styles? Do we need to formulate rules regarding these submissions? I have a pretty good idea of how vBulletin Modder should approach this, Nevertheless, I'm sure you have better ones. I look forward to finding out what they are and exploring their possibilities.

I hope you enjoy the new layout and most of all, I hope you contribute to the growth of this community and learn something in the process.

Let me be the first to say, "very nice".

Also, as your posts states the intent behind vBModder, the new layout also says that. Discussions first, Mods for Sale second. Much improved.

As for input, from and end user, I'll tell you what I would like to see. Standards. .org is the gristmill and that is fine. There are dozens of 'copy cat' mod/hack sites out there, whos main goal is to aquire coders and mods. The advantage I see with a discussion driven forum, such as vBM here, is that you can maintain quality. Your Mods are top notch, Code Monkey, and since your goal is NOT to populate the forum with hacks/mods you can have 5 or 6 high quality mods.

So, if you allow outside Hack/Mod submissions, I simply hope you hold them to a standard. First and foremost being support for the Mod on a semi-regular or regular basis on this forum. I am sure you can come up with some other standards, but that is my main requirement.

Heres to another step forward for vBModder, CM!! Well Done!!!

We don't have tags for members so I doubt anyone will post their goober mods here since it won't gain them any false status.

This layout is cleaner and less people will be lost like me
Now clean up the frontpage cmps. There are to many items in the central part, I closed them all, they hardly change and for me on my 56k, way to long to load... plus I hardly ever go there, my bookmark is straight to forum. Personally I dropped cmps on my forum. It didn't bring anything to the project for the user... but that's personal.

Also don't depreciate your mods to much, they are what people look for when they come in. It's the attrackting honeypot for this site so don't foget that. And also maybe time to stop Search Engine Optimization and do some stuff you like, coding...

Oh, do you think I haven't been coding?

I have some things going on in the background right now as far as coding. You use wordpress right Eric?

My coding is motivated by the activity on this site. Take that as a hint.
