Alien Emoticons (W.I.P)

So I've taken a break from a big project that me and a friend are working on and start working on some "alien themed emoticons". They're still in the testing phase and colours are still being tweaked and hopefully enhanced but I would appreciate any comments, criticism ot geral allround feedback regarding the early variants.

They're funny that's for sure. kind of big though. They remind me of Gary, Spongebob's pet snail. I can't wait to see how they evolve.

Funny you should say that they look like snails (I thought so also) which was the reason I added the 3rd antenna and eye.

I've got some ideas on some animation though it's going to take a while to modify the vectors and anchor points. I'll also try to shave a few pixels from them in the process.

Nice suggestion. Might prove a little tricky but I'll try and design something that you both suggested. I'm going to spend a little time with this set so any more suggestions would be great.

They need nostrils to complete the facial expressions. Too much emptiness above the mouth without the eyes there.

You're a star CM. Thanks for the suggestion, this is something I think that the emoticons are lacking (like you said) to much emptiness above the mouth which I totally agree with.

Plus being little holes, you can stretch and proportion them to convey the mood.

Is that because it's always chattering?

Again, I totally agree. I think the shaping and movement of the nostrils will add to a more appropriate realistic conveyed emotion.

Just one of the main reasons why I like posting my w.i.p before the design goes into it's finalized state.

Your getting a badge for this CM.
