That's sure to spark quite a debate lol. I dont know for sure. I use Zoints, and I can tell you it works. Especially the tags. I dont think it can "beat" as a FREE mod to improve rankings and traffic.

vBSEO is far superior to Zoints. Even the founder of Zoints made that clear. vBSEO does so much more than just change link structure.

As a salesman, or "pusher" of the product, it can hardly be an objective statement.

Besides, it's apples and oranges. One is free. One isn't. Both would be more competitive in one arena or the other. Yes, "usually" the pay products are "better". But for whom? One is better for some, the other better for others.

One is better for me, because it's a regional site, not national or international. It's offerings are excellent for what we need, and, it's FREE.

Ofcourse, better for me isn't "better" for someone else. And vice-versa.

Then why bother answering questions? I use it on many many sites and it is a superior product. I have installed both on many customers sites and I know exactly what one does and the other doesn't. That's why I push it. It's not like I make my living off of it. I make a living doing what my customers want and they usually want vBSEO or if not, they eventually do. Clean urls is just 1 of many many things that need to be done with vBulletin to make it Search Engine Optimization friendly.

I don't use vBseo myself, but it's clearly a superior product to Zoints Search Engine Optimization.

Thing is, vBSEO will work wonders if you your site has a subject, a reason for existence, a general "reason to be".

Sites like mine, which are very general, tend not to benefit from heavy Search Engine Optimization work, because nobody searches for the sorts of discussions my site has.

That said, I think Zoints Tags has helped a great deal. I've got a Google Page Ranking of 2 now for my main page. Hard earned, I can tell you.

I don't think vBSEO is a necessity for any forum. You can rank just as high with regular urls using other types of Search Engine Optimization strategies.

But to answer the question, vBSEO is definitely better than Zoints.

But be aware, once you install vBSEO, you won't be able to go back to regular links.

Yes you would with a simple redirect if you made the choice to use id numbers in your links. In fact they would even help you with that.

I have no experience with VBSEO but I've read a few threads around the forums and people had loads of problems getting this to work and VBSEO gave little or no help with it.

As I said, it's not a testimonial, just an observation.
