I have 3 links showing on Google if that is accurate. Like 53 linkbacks showing on Yahoo! and this is my spider stats.

Well.... two weeks down, three weeks total for the forum:
I have 3 links showing on Google if that is accurate. Like 53 linkbacks showing on Yahoo! and this is my spider stats.
they dropped off, escpecially these last few slow web days, but I am pleased. My first forum took nearly 6 weeks to show up on Google and Yahoo! at all.

You might want to click the "view details" links and see what the "other" spiders are. Especially on that 1000+ day.

Already did. That was the day I posted about Alexa. 911 of those spiders were Alexa ia_archiver that day. |

So, should it concern me that Google (and MSN) have completely avoided my forum today? Over a 100 hits from Yahoo! Slurp, but not one Googlebot.  |

Well, you don't have a lot of content yet right. And I doubt they are doing anything in concert.

I have found they respond to new content. The more new content they find, the more they crawl.

Yep... I uploaded my two newest photos and we just had a new member join and make a post - poof - 5 googlebots.  |

Not sure how they smell but indeed, they come as there is something to do.. else they just go elsewhere. They have really optimised their spiders to max efficiency. Don't waste time on places where there is nothing to do...

Well, when you set the sitemap frequency settings you are telling them how often something updates. So when there all only a few threads and such they get it done and come back for the next frequency check. When you have a lot of threads it will seem more like a constant event.

Okay... going to start getting a 24 rolling count of spiders for my other forum ( After Seppuku) using a Mod by Paul M.
After Seppuku is about to turn 1 year old so it will be interesting to compare the results of a 12 month old 90% un-Search Engine Optimization'd forum versus Foto Fanatix which is coming up on 2 months old using vBseo from the beginning...
