Time for a progress report on vBSEO
It's been two months since I installed vBSEO. I just thought I would give you a look at what I see as far as changes in Search Engine crawls of vBulletin Modder.
You can see from the screen shots that yesterdays count of spider activity far exceeds the first days measly count. Is this scientific foolproof data? No, I don't know if you can find definitive proof of anything when it comes to Search Engine Optimization. Yet, there it is. It far exceeds the numbers on another vBulletin site that I have that is two and one half years old with far more posts and members.
I'm sure there are other factors involved as there always are. But I find it encouraging to see them spiders crawling. Now make some posts so they have something to read.

I've recently installed vBSEO on two sites and am working on optimization. I noticed a significant increase in search bot activity but I'm not sure about the results for page rank yet. I'm definitely optimistic!

Page rank is only updated a few times a year for public toolbars. And pagerank is dependant on quality links back to your site. What vBSEO will do is help that page rank transfer to your sub pages better.

Anyone know of a good tutorial on developing good linkbacks with the linkback system in vBulletin 3.6? If I understood better how to utilize those linkback links, maybe I could get better links to other sites. I've tried swapping links and sending emails to other sites with minimal success.

Submit to directories. You don't get the best return from them but the sheer numbers of them over time will stablize your PageRank and good quality links will help raise it. The thing about directories is they are permanent links.
Write quality articles and people will link to them. Quality content is the number one best way to get backlinks. It's also more beneficial as far as PageRank because they will be natural links in someones related content and google likes that.
Google loves blogs. If you can get write ups with links in blogs that is a good thing. There are people you can pay to do this as well.
You can purchase a few quality back links on related authority sites. This depends on how much moola you have and wether you have a revenue site.
Links using keywords as anchors in your signature at related sites. If you are a contributing member who makes quality posts many sites don't mind and do it themselves.
Point is, there are many ways and a mix of all of them is good. Just don't get too many too fast or google might think you are spamming.

vBSEO has done wonders to my car club's website.
I bought vBSEO almost exactly a month ago (Oct. 17th)
Before vBSEO our link popularity between the top search engines was down at about 70-80 links. Now just under a month later, we're breaking the 1600 range
For those of you are on the fence of purchasing this, I STRONGLY recommend it. If you're worried about the price is free, let's put it this way, do you think they'd continue to keep selling the product if it didn't work?
HURAY FOR VBSEO
Also, CM what do you use to monitor the SE activity on your site displayed in those screen shots you supplied?

Ahh, I missed this post earlier. If you have vBSEO, and also vBSEO sitemap, then the vBSEO sitemap admin page will display the SE count for you.

Looks like we have taken another step up in SE rankings. In the last report I showed how we were getting a SE crawl peak of around 1000 at least once a month. well, since the 15th that has changed. I'll let the picture speak for itself but todays crawls were pretty exciting.

Question for ya, CM...
How did you get Yahoo! to recognize you so soon? My first 3 days are very similiar to your day 1 posted above. Minus Yahoo! . Completely absent.
I did send them a sitemap and verify my site. Am I just being impatient?

How long is your site running ? Took quite a while for mines to be included in their nasty spiders but now no way to scare them off

The whole forum, less tha two weeks. More like 10 days I guess including the first couple of days setting it up. I've been running vbseo 3 1/2 days now. Yahoo! found me late last night.
