Not Require Key Word Input When Searching

Does anyone know how to make it so that users are not required to add a key word when making a search? Right now I get this error:

Please specify some words or valid user names to search on. There were no matches for those that you specified.
I have extra threadfields to search, but do not want users to have to enter in a keyword.

How can you do a search without searching for something?

I have an addon that lets me add radio buttons and checkboxes. I wanted to post a link but I can't. I want people to be able to check the check boxes but not have to add a keyword.

So the add-on doesn't work then. This would require some sort of code re-write either hard coded or through a plugin. Have you asked the hack author why it doesn't work?

The addon works fine. It was just created without a way to turn on/off the keyword requirement.

Unfortunately the author had some personal issues and completely left his software unattended and closed down his site (which had the answer...).

I remember it being only a line of change but I do not remember where. As far as I can remember it is a change to the default vbulleting code, not the addon. Whether it was a template or php change, I do not remember. BTW the addon was called extra threadfields.

Do you remember who the author was? I take it this is not a vBORG mod then?

His name was gio~logist and I discovered his lite version at vborg. His main site is siteresort. HE was just a high school kid who got burned out. It was an awesome hack, I hope someone else picks it up for the future. I just need this one thing fixed and my forum search will rock! if you want to check out my search page go to onereef com and click on advanced search.
