You probably have IE set to recheck the page with every page load. Which means no caching.

but my users have the same problem. anyway how can i set this to disable?
by the way i dont think that this is a no cache problem.because ie users have to refresh the page in order to see the new messages

I just checked with IE 7.0 and it took about 2-3 secs... and I'm in the UK - didn't see any problems with page loading.

I've noticed that with IE6, graphics also is not cached. For some reason, my server log shows each unique IE6 visitor downloading the same graphic each time a new page loads up (whether it is a normal web page or a Vbulletin type form page). Has anyone noticed this in their web logs? I too had slow loads in IE6 because of this graphics cache problem. Maybe you have it, too.

They probably have their IE set to update the page with every page load. That's like the stupidist setting in IE.

Make your forum's speed seem faster
What it does is it lets your members and your visitors feel that your site or forum is very fast.

Time to install: ~ 1 sec.

How to install:

1. Open the HEADER template.

2. Place the following code at the top of the contents:

HTML Code:
PHP Code:
<META http-equiv=Page-Exit content=BlendTrans(Duration=0)>
<
META http-equiv=Page-Enter content=BlendTrans(Duration=0)>

Re: my site is loading slow in ie

Easier way.... use the better browser "Firefox"!!

You could always force your visitors to switch to Firefox by using 'Explorer Destroyer' - not the ideal way I agree. Probably, end up driving more people away than gaining them.

I don't touch IE unless I have to...

Re: my site is loading slow in ie

Check your settings in IE.

Internet Options > General > Browser History > Settings > Check For Newer versions of stored pages > Choose "Automatically"

If you have it set to "every time you visit a web page" then nothing is cached and you have to reload every thing including graphics, css, and js with each page load. With automatic it checks if the page and the files have been changed since last viewed. It's a mistake setting that is screwed by default and causes many people problems with which they waste much time at solving.

Why are we bumping year old threads anyway?

Re: my site is loading slow in ie

I have the same problem... it seems it's in the way IE handles tables. While FF displays the page steadily as it loads, IE won't show anything until table content loading is complete.
