VBSEO cost as much as vBulletin but is worth it. The social network buttons are part of the newest vbseo version. This thread was a test of the track back system.

149$ is expensive indeed. Let me know if it really does something. TO have spiders on my board, no problem at all, there are constantly from Google, MSN, Yahoo, Gigablast etc... don't need another robot for that, so what else does it do ?

Just because you see spiders doesn't mean they are accomplishing anything. VBSEO sets a feast at the table that Spiders cannot resist. It organises it for them in a nice way to make it easy. Having the free sitemap addon helps even more.
Since isntalling VBSEO on Saturday our page listings have doubled in google. Visiters have increased dramatically. We are getting spiders we have never gotten before. Plus our urls are nifty looiking.
Now it offers track backs, pings to aggregators like blogs do, and the social networking features you see. Pretty cool stuff.

It's working in the default style so it's a problem with this style. More work for me.

It seems they would look for active users in thread or similar links to be activated then insert the code there. Well, I moved active users to the navbar template and sim threads isn't on here so....
I just put this where active users used to be.
PHP Code:
<if condition="$show['activeusers']"> <!--active users moved above thread--> </if>
They are now adding a third option because of this issue I raised. Good on them. Nice to see a company not get all snooty when someone finds something.

Yes it is. I can see how the spider crawls are becoming more frequent and more efficient. And my pages in google have doubled even though there hasn't been many new posts around here.
Overall my only regret is that, as usual for me, I purchased two days before a big sale.

what do you mean by big sale ? some cheap version ?
I installed their free sitemap generator, works on 3.6, not sure if it will help something. Spiders all over 24/24, not sure it'll change something

I purchased this last night myself. I also used Code Monkey as my referral. Just curious, you stated that you notice improvement. How or where do I check the stats for my site?

Just check your total google cached apages over time. Installing the site map also helps tremendously.
You can insert your google analyticks code into vbseo and it will insert it in all the pages for you.

By insert it into vbseo I am assuming you mean to paste the code into vbseo.php. Anywhere in particular?
One other thing, when installing the SiteMap Generator, what is the "Direct Script Run Code" and where do I find it? And when editing my .htaccess file I also assume that I use the Apache and mod_rewrite code?
Thanks for your help.

No don't touch vbseo.php
You should be running vbseocp.php to set up your config. In there is a setting to have vbseo take care of your analytics code. And a million other settings. You don't need to edit your htaccess. It comes setup already. The only time you need to edit it is if you have your home page in root and forums in another dir like here.

vBSEO is pretty feature laden. If you have a web savvy membership, those social links can bring you quality traffic.

Yes they can. And the link backs can tell you who is looking and talking in other places.
