hey guys

i need help with an emoticon i added to my forum a while back. i assigned a "command" (what i call it) to it, which was :monkey:. it doesn't appear as an smilie in the list and isn't recognised by typing :monkey:, yet it appears when i simply type monkey, like that. No colons on either side.

how can i fix this?

You may have added it to a emoticon set that isn't displayed. I haven't done much with that part of vBulletin but I believe you can create different sets of emoticons. Just look around the smilies section of your admincp.
