I was wondering, does it make a difference on search engine content if I am using a portal at the domain.com address and the archive is located at domain.com/forums/archive. Will the portal block the crawl of search bots, if so can anyone tell me how or where to change the default path for the archive.

Why would it block the path? You have an archive link in the footer don't you?

Personally I would turn the default vBulletin Archive off as it leads to duplicate content penalties. I have it turned on becuase I use vBSEO which has the actual archive links to threads 301 redirected to the actual threads for guests. That way there is only one link with the content.

Either way, your Portal isn't going to block it.

Instead of turning the archive option off, I will select option to link threads directly to showthread pages, instead of displaying a different version in archive.
