Lightbulb Another kind of frontdoor ...

Many of us use some kind of frontpart to vBulletin forums to have something nicer then just the forums popping up.

Those I used (and know) all are modular which is fine with more or less options and ease of use... but they are always configured by the people behind the forum. Basically you 'impose' your format to the readers.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could make modules and that people once registered could build up their own frontpage with the modules available..

example

I like to see latest threads from forum x ( I don't care about y)
I'd like the module with for ex a weather pic of my region ( )
then also the module for blabla

Basically the owners build the modules and make a standard frontpage (for visitors and lazy members)
Members afterwards can build up their page like they want choosing from the available modules.....
I guess an option for imposed modules must be there since many live from ads, so they should show up somewhere on that frontpage....

I know this is way more complex then just a few lines of code but....
