It's been so quite here you startled me with that post.

The forum bit updates the database which is where the front page get's it's info.

While your waiting for me to get off my lazy but and finish it, try out the AJAX Cron.

ok, I installed that ajax cron thing, what am I supposed to screw up now ? Don't get what it does

does it completely take over the builtin cron from vBulletin ? If so do we use the standard cron part to make new crons etc from vBulletin and it will call your ajax ??

You might explain me a little, I'll go searching this forum if I find womething that can help me

I understand quickly as long you explain long

Curently, vbulletin uses a fake image call at the bottom of the page to run crons. Instead if an image it tries to load cron.php which cause the script to run. Then it redirects to clear.gif. This is really a cheap parlor trick. It got the job done but the unlucky soul who get's the random image load on their visit may get some delay. Especially on large sites. This is a syncronous action and the page must wait for everything to complete before giving control to the user.

This replaces that with an AJAX call which is asyncronous and will not impeded the user. In fact, you will never know it's happening. Where as before, you knew something was hanging the page load.

Lazy bones is going to try to get a beta release out today between haircuts and getting the kids school supplies.

It will not have live update capabilities yet for vba but it will be as it is on here now. I need some testing on real sites.
