vBulletin Mod Site Install Systems?

All of these hack install systems i see are all different.... But if i were to consider setting up a mod site of my own, where would i find one of those install systems?

They could also be modified for other things as well, such as game clan movies... you could have people post if the watched it or not (instead of "installed")

There are a million uses for these systems, but where would i get one if i needed one?

Well BigJohnny, if I had planned this site and spent the desired months it takes to get things done rignt in advance, I would have coded my own. But because I threw this site up on a whim and went from there I used someone elses. I can't say I am happy with it. It has a lot of errent code that cause me permission problems in other places and it is not very configurable. I may look into that link Loco provided. It might be easier to modify that than to deal with this thing anymore.

oh really?
whats so horrible about it?

and where the hell can i learn to code such advanced hacks/mods.

im seriously upset wioth the fact that cant learn this stuff, and i know i will probably NEVER be able to code something like that.

hell i cant even code an auto-close thread hack....i just cant figure this stuff out.... and ive come ot notice that the vbulletin modding community isnt really all that helpful for the most part.

Everyone is too concerned with not having any competition.

I don't care about competition. I can only do my own thing and hope for the best. But I understand how you feel that way and why.

There is a thread on this site where I answer some questions on learning PHP.

[how] vBulletin Coding, where to start ?

well admitidly one of my downfalls is how i learn.

I find it extremely hard to just read something like "PHP for dummies" or what have you, and actually understand what is going on or what they are talking about.
which makes it extremely hard for me to follow along with tutorials.

i wasnt bitching about people not releasing things, or saying anything about you specfically, im just saying the general attitude seems to be "screw competition.... me me me"

I want to learn how to make my own hacks and mods, and to achieve the level of doing such things as writing my own db system, or seriously high level hacks, would be something i would be extremely proud of, and also be able to use to possibly generate a little bit of revnue on the side.
not that i want to learn it for money, but its one of those possible good side effects.

anyway back on track.... is there anything else that can be used for the display boxes... such as maybe a div, or a table row/column etc. or some way to make the span boxes height smaller?
as i understand it, it seems that the actual data can be inserted into anything that has an id property, because it will display with a <div id="pw_strength"></div> but it wont have any colour to it, and its kind of .... padded or spaced or something.

I should also mention im using frontpage to be able to have a rough idea of how the template looks....im not good enough to do it all strictly looking at code
