About This Page: This is a discussion on v3Arcade vs. iPro Arcade within the General Chat forums, part of the Community Center category, at vBulletin Modification Discussions. Anyone have any suggestion on which is better? Most of my members use Mozilla and I have noticed that with v3 I have to use IE for it to register high scores on some games. Is iPro the same? Anything

Anyone have any suggestion on which is better?

Anything else I should look into?

Thanks

Re: v3Arcade vs. iPro Arcade

I have one site with an arcade and even then it's not public. I just converted it from v3arcade to ibparcade and I will never go back. Much better product IMO.

Re: v3Arcade vs. iPro Arcade

Thanks, I went ahead and installed ibProArcade, but I am having trouble finding games for it. I can find lots and lots for v3 arcade but I can't verify my license through them because I am not running v3 and therefore they wont let me have access to the games. I also found a site called ibProArcade - Downloads I think, but I couldn't find where to actually download the games, only where to play. Can you help? Thanks

Re: v3Arcade vs. iPro Arcade

When you play the games at the ibparcade site there is a link in the list for each game to d/l it. I believe you get a few times and then it's one a day. I donated the $3 a year thing and get 2 a day and that's good enough for me. I don't want to flood games into the thing. At least there you know they have checked them out and they are not likely to contain malicious code. At least I would hope not.

Re: v3Arcade vs. iPro Arcade

We have ibProarcade on our site and works great. I get games from 3 different sites:

IBP Arcade Games

pnFlashGames :: Spreading the Joy (download as Postnuke)

ibpArcade Downloads -> Arcade

I have had a lot of bad luck trying to get the pnFlashGames to work. I haven't had time to look into it.

Re: v3Arcade vs. iPro Arcade

It's a bit more work to add them but its possible.

You need to

1)unzip the file
2)upload the .swf file to the arcade folder
3)copy the .gif file and name one game1 and one game2 - upload those to the images folder where "game" is the name of the gam
4)open the text document, go to Add Games in the top part, and enter all the settings mentioned in the text document
GName is the exact name of the .swf file

Re: v3Arcade vs. iPro Arcade

Hey there,

We've installed both.. and evaluated both.

IOHO - ibproarcade gives more features and integration.

We've also found more modules/add-ons for it - so v3 went to the disable bin and then uninstalled.

Just our 1.97 cents [after the conversion and taxes]

Cheers,
aproape

Re: v3Arcade vs. iPro Arcade

I also use IProArcade and find it great! Only problem i have with it is that the tournaments don't quite work very well. It automatically disqualifies people (don't know why, myself included) and also forwards the person with the lowest score onto the next level instead? Very odd!!

Other than that i 100% recommend IPro!!!

Also, what cash mod does everyone use for IPRO???

Re: v3Arcade vs. iPro Arcade

you do not need a money system such as icash or vbcredit but it will make the arcade more fun for members when they compete for who has the most cash!!!!

There are tons of games around on the net for IBpro you just have to know where to look. lol

Re: v3Arcade vs. iPro Arcade

I would use ibproarcade as it's supported. v3arcade is once again abandoned.

I've actually got both running together on my site.

pnFlash games do work but they submit transparently, so it often looks they haven't submitted at all, even though they have. You don't get the confirmation screen that you get with "normal" games.

I'd go with ibproarcade as well, i've always used it over v3arcade and never had any problems

Re: v3Arcade vs. iPro Arcade

Style-wise I always preferred v3Arcade, ibPro is a pig to alter the style as it doesn't use templates.
