Cool Upgrading

Do you think its nessesary to upgrade your board?

I'm currently still on 3.6.4 but i don't see the need to upgrade because its working fine and all is good.

I have noticed some mods can't be used on an older board but many are still compatible with it with a hook.

What are your thoughts on it?

Re: Upgrading

Well, if it's a security update then yes but they usually offer a updated file if you don't want to update. The thing is there were a lot of security and bug updates for versions after 3.64 and none really specifically for 3.64 so all my sites have stayed there. I haven't really seen any compelling features wise that would get me excited enough to take the plunge.

Having said that I should point out that all my sites have highly customized styles so it means a lot more work upgrading than a style based on the default.

The plugin system is the best thing they ever did with vBulletin. It has some issues but it has had the result of vBulletin admins getting better mods and ones that stand the test of time much better than before 3.5.
