About This Page: This is a discussion on So who is upgrading to vBulletin 3.7 Gold when it comes out? within the General Chat forums, part of the Community Center category, at vBulletin Modification Discussions. Anyone? I'm not sure I need any of the new features in vBulletin 3.7 but I will probably set up a test site. You should always wait for the first patch anyway.

Oh wow up to 3.7 Gold!! I'm still using 3.6.4

I guess i'm the kind that follows the 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it' rule.

I'm interested in finding out about it though. Maybe thats the upgrade i need, i don't like upgrading too much so thats why i'm still kinda 'old skool' LOL

me! im trying to be patient for gold to be released. the days seem to drag on for weeks. theres alot of custom coding i want to have done to the board and ive been putting it off until 3.7 goes gold. ive got RC2 installed on the test board and i really like what i see. the biggest thing the users will notice is the enhanced profiles and the albums built right in. ive been using the image host addon, but the albums that are built in will be replacing that.

You've got that right about betas!!! I upgraded to 3.7.0 RC3 and everything was fine - then the RC4 came out and I stupidly upgraded to that. This new "security token" thing has played havoc with my site - I've spent probably close to 24 hours fixing things up in the past few days

AARRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!

I've put the Gold release on my test board to have a play and get familiar with it before migrating onto main forum.

Also need to convert the skin to work as it's a 3.6.x only style. I'm getting there...

Re: So who is upgrading to vBulletin 3.7 Gold when it comes out?

I'm nervous about upgrading myself. I have installed quite a few mods and being a n00b at vBulletin I'm not sure if I can fix some of then if they break and I'm sure some will but it looks so promising. Going to keep reading up and following the talk until I'm comfortable enough to make the move.

I've been running 3.7 since Beta 2 in january.

I've now got Gold running....upgraded last week. No issues at all.

Do you have many mods installed? Thats really the only reason why I'm holding out....

Can you set up a test site with a single vBulletin license, and if so where can I find instructions on how to go about it?

Every license allows you to set up a test site. I believe it needs to be in a directory called testvb and of course it can't be used as forum and it must be secured from access. Just secure the directory for password access.

It's simple. Just upload another copy of the files to the testvb directory and create a new database for the test site.
