Put it this way, I am having a design your profile contest and there are two entries. And I am giving away guaranteed closed beta keys to a game they have all been waiting 8 years for. So if that doesn't tell you how boring the new features are then I don't know what will.
I won't even get into how inefficient the code is.

I have found exactly the same thing, and I've been running 3.7 since beta 2 in january.
New profiles : Nobody cares, they just complain that things that used to take one click now take two or even three.
Social groups: Not used at all bar the two test groups we set up.
Blogs: Used about once every two months, and nobody reads them. This despite me having "latest 5 blogs" on forumhome and getdaily/getnew.
Albums: we already had Photoplog running and that's not popular. The albums are just a source of UTTER confusion, nobody knows how to use them at all, even I struggle.
Friends system: Had loads of requests to "opt out" of that, so many that I created a usergroup with it disabled. Again, nobody uses it.
3.7 is like the emperor's new clothes. Everyone says it's wonderful but I've yet to see a board where the new features are used properly and not just seen as a silly gimmick. It's been universally derided on my site, and I can't see the point.
