No I did not code it myself. I acutally paid a large sum of money to have it developed, totaly around 3K.
The orginal CMS was developed for 3.0.7, then upgraded to 3.5.4. As my skills have improved, I did the upgrade to 3.6.4
This is what it has and how it works:
First I had a template created, my home page >
SportsRant.com - Sports Talk With An Attitude
and a full article view >
Top 10 NFL Impact Rookies of 2006 (example)
then the orginal developer added/created the templates based off of theme i had made. So an my thought was that if I could get a coder to help me package this, we could create a template (plain or something like that) and then change the css to reflect the new site. an example of how someone could adapt this would be to purchase a template from templatemonster.com and then mod the template in my vb_news template system and change the css
1) it works with vbseo on the cms articles
2) the article system is actually a designated forum, so you can create individual pages for each forum. If you submit a story from outside the forum, it posts a truncated forum post and then links the full story, for Search Engine Optimization and duplicate posting problems.
3) print view
4) login system
5) can post stories from the home page
6) can create individual writers pages that archive all their stories (based on forum id)
7) works with a modded poll system off of vbadvanced
8) links section to add favorite links
9) Jackass of the week (this can be changed to whatever someone would want)
10) a hot topic > which is based off clicking a link to make a thread the hot topic
and more......
Code Monkey, if you would like to take a look at this from the admin area just let me know
I would like to somehow share it with the community, that is, if anyone is interested
I hope this somewhat makes sense, sorry if this confuses everyone
Regards,
Mike
