Braggin Time!
My daughter went to tryouts for Soccer Mini-Season this past weekend. That's like an introduction to competitive soccer for those that played recreational soccer this season. Two grueling days of 3 hour workouts. There was supposed to be two teams and 30 girls tried out. So we thought she had a good chance. Then after tryouts they tell us the other coaches backed out so there will be only one team. We figured there might not be a chance now. When you figure in coaches and assistants kids, politics, stars that are must haves, there is not much room left on a team.
And since my girl is not well known in the circles it seemed futile to get our hopes up. But she worked hard at those tryouts and during the season. She gave the top girls fits and made a few look silly during one on ones. Plus some of the coaches remember how their teams could not score during the season when she was on D.
So after all that, she made the team. I'm proud of that girl. She is a hard worker and deserves it. This will be her first traveling team. I have done it in Baseball with my boys so I know what's comming. Should be fun.
