A funny permissions story

When I set up my forum permissions I made the mistake of placing "Registered Users" in moderation queue in a couple forums. I set up these forums about a year ago. Today I decided I was going to put new member's posts into moderation through the usergroup manager. Then I browsed around the ACP to find all the moderated posts made by the users. I click on 'Moderation' then 'Threads' and I saw threads that probably been there for months.
If you run a forum make sure you don't make the same mistake.

LOL Yep... been there, done that.

What made it really funny is that I wasn't purposely using moderated posts at all. I had ONE poster in ONE usergroup and that was the one. The fact that he is a borderline troublemaker made it all the funnier. To this day he thinks I was just messing with him, but really it took me days to figure out what was wrong, since I had never messed with moderated posts and had NO idea what was happening!! LOL

You know, that's really good advice for new and even moderately experienced admins. I have never thought to look into that but I guess I should (have had my boards up for a few years now). LOL

This would make a really good addition to a list of "tips" for vbulletin admins.
