Today I migrated from Fifrefox 1.5.X to latest release version 2 (Firefox 3 is already in alpha these days, quick folks over there)
Anyway, if you're a weirdo like me on an Imac or alike, don't just drag the new app on the old, you'll end with a fully unstable version. I wrote a
few lines here on how to get it as new install. I work now since 2 hours with it, and not a single freeze anymore. Yeah I started the wrong way, always learning the hard way
Since many use Fasterfox to speed up things in Firefox... and it isn't 'yet' released for version 2, I digged a little and came up with
following hacking , According several that tested with me, it speeds a lot... I can not say it is lightning on a 56k line but it does, friend of mine on DSL flies now.
Hope some of you can use the info here, since many coders are also lovers of latest releases
On the
blog frontpage Jens also did a little test between IE7, FF2rc3 and Opera 9 for those interested. No exact science but just a user point of view. Enjoy
