I came across an interesting thread about the DMOZ directory system, mainly the editors that run their own specific catergories. Here's the Thread, though by reading this I doudbt I'll be submitting my site to their listings.

it's quite an old thread but I was wondering is this still hapopening?

DMOZ is worthless. It's become an elitest freakfest over there. The best advice is to make a submission exactly according to their guidlines and forget about it. If it does get in it could take an extremely long time. So there is no use fretting over it.

I've submitted all my sites at one point.. no idea if any will ever get in

you can always become and editor yourself

No you can't. They deny most of those applications as well.

Well, I've never heard of DMOZ and suppose I'll just ignore it when I do hear it about again some day!!!

Which is an absolute shame as it had the potential to become something quite special. I submitted my site... it eventually made it in to the directory.

I got into DMOZ myself, and into Yahoo Directory before they started charging for premium placement.

It does help if you know the editor ;P

I have another site that is in DMOZ. It's a crapshoot and I don't know any editors.
